What is a Meet & Greet?
A Meet & Greet is an opportunity for you and your pet to meet our team, and vice versa. We want to make sure both parties are comfortable with each other prior to services. We also use the Meet & Greet to learn your pets routine, where they eat, sleep, play. We also include a bonding walk with our Meet & Greet.
Are You Insured or Bonded?
Happy Tails MV is the only pet sitting company on Martha's Vineyard to be a licensed LLC, insured and bonded. We CORI background check all employees and independent contractors prior to joining our team.
How Will I Get Updates?
In our app! We will send a Report Card after each visit that includes a GPS route, photos and a note about our adventure!
Can You Give My Pet Medications?
We sure can! We understand that some pets require insulin, pills etc. We don't mind scheduling multiple visits prior to services to get comfortable with administering medications, if needed. If there is something we are not comfortable with, we have some vet techs on call for help!
Someone May Stop By While We Are Away, Should We Let You Know?
Absolutely! Please alert us if any friends, cleaners, repair people will be on your property while we are caring for your home/pets. We want to make sure we know who has access to your home, and that our pet sitters are not alarmed. We do require that no one is in the home during sleeping hours.
Can You Water Plants, Take in Mail/Packages and Garbage Cans?
Absolutely! This is all a part of our overnight sitting pricing. We ask for a schedule prior to services.
Do You Use Prong Collars or E-Collars?
We will never use training tools on your pet if the clients does not already use one. Happy Tails MV, LLC employees do not own or keep these training tools on their person. Using such training tools is at the discretions of the Pet Professional and client. All Pet Professionals have the option to refuse to use these training tools during their visits or to be trained by a certified trainer on these training tools.
What is Your Cancellation Policy?
Do you use Independent Contractors?
We use a mix of both independent contractors and employees. All Pet Professionals are insured, bonded, trained and CORI background checked. We check work and personal references before anyone joins our team. We only bring the best people and care to you and your pets.
What Training or Certifications Do You Have?
All of our employees go through a 30 hour training program prior to solo walks/pet sitting. Everyone is Pet First Aid & CPR Certified, Pet Sitter Certified and FetchFind Educated and Certified. We hold monthly continued education classes, and the owner will be CCPDT Certifed as of July 2023. We will be the only company under the direction of a Master Dog Trainer.
Do You Care for Reactive Dogs?
Absolutely! We were one of the first companies to work with reactive dogs and their dog trainers. We set up multiple Meet & Greets with a check list for each visit to ensure comfortability and safety for you, your dog and our Pet Professionals.
What Do Your Services Include?
All the walk essentials! You don't have to provide anything! All services come with: a certified professional, treats, water, leash, waste bags, a GPS collar tracker, raincoat, hunting season gear, a report card at the end of services with GPS tracked route, photos of our adventures and all the loves!
How Does An Overnight Work?
Our overnight care services work differently, as we have 3 options for care. You can view our services here. Primarily, we have a certified pet professional stay overnight in your home with your pet. We have a morning walk/feeding, a midday walk, an evening walk/feeding and a potty break before bed.

Do You Allow Video Recording?
Absolutely. We believe in total transparency and peace of mind pet care. We have no problem being recorded, but we do require recording devices remain in common areas only. We do not allow recordings in bathrooms or sleep areas. We reserve the right to unplug, cover or turn around any devices in these areas.
What Happens If My Flight/Boat is Delayed or Cancelled?
Don't worry! We will be with your pets until you can arrive home safely.
Do You Offer Services During the Holidays?
Absolutely! We have limited availability during the holidays, so be sure to get your requests in!
How Are My Keys Handled?
All keys are kept by the owner in a locked box until services begin, and return to the locked box after services end. Keys are coded, and only the owner knows which key belongs to each home. We will never make a copy of your key.
